About this deal
I have a dongle that converts an old Bose I pod dock to bluetooth which is 30 pin female in and only needs power which I presume the USB side of the Y cable will provide. Please find attached your club label – please can this be distributed amongst your club members prior to the event. Bovee do mention some car models needing an additional dockstubz plus power adaptor on their troubleshooting guide and I guess Audi updating the connector in 09 would explain why other TT owners can plug and play without issue.
So as near as I can tell this works by setting up a virtual iPod interface to a Bluetooth connection. It failed to though after restarting my phone, turning bluetooth and on off on my phone, re-pairing my phone with the device. I wouldn't mind connecting it each time so long as it worked and I could actually select the iPod part. I'm going to try and borrow an old iPod from a friend to try to rule out the dock itself being the issue, but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas about what has gone wrong here?
I originally had a leather , heated wheel with full buttons that was standard with the car but had button gear shift.
it's not a mega technical piece of kit so why everyone keeps raving about them totally boggles my mind. If above is a YES then when going into settings external media you should select "AUX" within the 6112. After this, it would connect to my phone but the car would get stuck on "loading" (as the iPod dock emulates the CD changer) or just say no CD is found with no mention of the 6 decks.
It works just fine when my phone is paired to my car for phone functions and also when my phone is paired to the Bovee1000. I'm not sure that the iPhone will agree to look like a USB Memory stick, years ago phones tended to but at least modern Androids don't now and I don't remember having been able to do that even years back with iPods (never had an iPhone). After waiting for my phone to say it's connected, I use the behind the steering wheel button to change audio input to ipod, and it's usually there. The later is not needed if you only want to play music I guess, as the songs comes up on the right screen you should be able to switch songs using the buttons in the steering wheel.
